Questions people ask
Why verified beats random
Anyone can roll a number. Few can prove it was fair.
A generic random number generator asks your audience to trust you. An in-house or physical draw asks them to trust the room. Verified Draws replaces trust with proof — the same result, checkable by anyone, on a beacon nobody controls.
Provable
Independently verifiable
Broadcast-ready at scale
Ideal for competitions, raffles and giveaways where the result has to hold up in public.
Built for competition companiesAbout this tool
Verified Draws is a free, open tool for running random draws anyone can check. It's provided as-is, with no warranty of any kind. The randomness comes from drand — the public beacon run by the League of Entropy — not from this site. Anyone can confirm any draw by re-running the published instructions against the drand round; example code in Python, PHP and Node.js comes with every verified draw.
This tool does not run prize competitions. If you use it to pick winners for a competition, raffle, prize draw or lottery, you are responsible for:
- Following the law where you live (in the UK, that includes the Gambling Act 2005 and any licensing your type of draw may need).
- Getting proper consent from anyone whose personal details you upload, including names. You are the data controller; this tool handles uploaded details only briefly and keeps ticket numbers anonymous once the draw is done.
- Telling entrants the results and dealing with any disputes.
- Checking the draw finished as expected before you announce winners.
As far as the law allows, we accept no liability for any losses arising from use of this tool — including, but not limited to, connection problems with drand, server downtime, disputes over a draw, or how the site operator handles data. Your statutory rights are unaffected.
